Please note that if you are coming to Rosario Beach via I-5 and Highway 20 from Mt. Vernon, you will not see the signs for Deception Pass State Park or cross the iconic bridge. For this reason, the turn for Rosario Beach is easy to miss. Look for the first right turn after Pass Lake, from there, the signs are much easier to follow. We plan to place balloons on the signs to draw your attention.
Deception Pass State Park has recently begun to charge a daily fee for admission and parking. You do not have to pay this fee; when you arrive, find a parking spot, and then come to the shelter to collect your pass. It should be displayed on the dashboard.
Incidentally, when we chose this location, we were not aware that the area would be under construction. We wanted to share with you the natural beauty, which has been recently... uh... accessorized by cones and other construction paraphernalia. We did encourage donations to the parks in lieu of a gift, so we've decided to view it as our wishes realized a bit more quickly than anticipated. Please use your imagination to ignore it. :)
